Quick easy additional to your meal! These fries are perfect every time with the air fryer. Whether your making steak fries or shoelace fries, this recipe is a no-brainer.
Before prepping the potatoes I start to preheat the air fryer to 400F (if your air fryer only goes up to 380 or 390 F that is fine. Might just have to bake longer). By the time the air fryer is preheated, about 5 minutes, you will have your potatoes prepped and ready to throw in.
You are welcome to peel your potatoes if you want, but I don’t! All I do is wash the dirt off the potato, and cut the potatoes into either steak-fry style or shoelace style. As I am chopping the potatoes I place them in a bowl so I can add spices later. After all the potatoes are cut into fries, add your desired spices. If you want the fries to be really crispy, oil will help you achieve that. However, I often omit the oil because it is not completely necessary and the fries still come out crispy and delicious!
For the spices, feel free to get creative! I like paprika and garlic powder, but any of your favorite spices (or just salt!) will likely turn out delicious. After you have seasoned your fries, put the fries in your preheated air fryer and bake for at least 20 minutes, but could be up to 30 or 35 minutes depending on how many fries your baking together and how crispy you want them, so just keep an eye on them. Regardless, definitely shake half way! The more potatoes you have in your air fryer, the more you will need to shake it so it bakes through.
